Their SLO Love Story
One thing’s for sure—Jacob loves Allie. The kind of love where if she wants the moon, he’ll find a way to lasso it and hand it right to her. And Allie? She’s the type of person who pours all her love into everyone else.
Their Downtown SLO Engagement Session and Sunset at Shell Beach perfectly reflected that balance — genuine, romantic, and full of playful energy. We started at Hotel SLO, where they shared a quiet moment over champagne before wandering through my favorite downtown corners. From the colorful walls to the rooftop overlooking Madonna Mountain, every stop brought laughter and connection.
Planning Your Engagement Session
As a San Luis Obispo Engagement Photographer, I always want engagement sessions to feel natural and intentional. For Jacob and Allie, we mixed the energy of downtown San Luis Obispo with the peaceful beauty of Shell Beach, one of my favorite hidden Central Coast spots that shines on a low tide.
Allie sent over a Pinterest board filled with inspiration — black-and-white shots, the trendy blur, and photos full of movement. I quickly got a sense of what they loved, and we built their session around that: modern, candid, and joy-filled.
Sunset Session at Shell Beach
After wrapping up in downtown, we drove to Shell Beach, just in time for cotton candy skies. They popped champagne, kicked off their shoes, and watched the sun dip below the horizon. It was calm and intimate — the perfect ending to a day that felt like a celebration of everything that brought them here.
It’s these moments that remind me why I love being a Wedding Photographer — helping couples create experiences that are fun, comfortable, and completely their own.
Looking Ahead
Jacob and Allie’s engagement session wasn’t just about photos — it was about slowing down, being present, and celebrating their story. Sessions like this are the reason I encourage couples to plan time away from screens, filled with movement, laughter, and champagne.
Whether it’s a Downtown SLO Engagement Session and Sunset at Shell Beach or a quiet evening in the vineyards, I love capturing the real stuff — the way you look at each other when no one else is around.
