Downtown San Luis Obispo & Pismo Beach Engagement Session – Jasmine & Will

There’s something magical about photographing two people who simply click. Jasmine and Will’s engagement session was a perfect mix of laughter, quiet moments, and golden California light — the kind of day that reminds me why I love being an engagement photographer in San Luis Obispo.

Their Story

Jasmine and Will’s love story began in 2020 during the uncertainty of COVID. They met on a dating app, but unlike most, Jasmine had the premium version where she could see who swiped on her — which is how Will’s profile caught her eye. Their first meeting was memorable for all the right reasons (and a little teasing), as Jasmine jokingly accused Will of being “one of the anti-maskers,” as he arrived without a mask.

What followed was a connection rooted in their mutual love for friends, family, and a really good vegan meal. When Will went quiet for a bit, Jasmine reignited the spark with one vegan recipe that changed everything.

Jasmine is the friend who checks in, remembers the little things, and holds her family together. She’s driven, thoughtful, and has a quiet but powerful heart. Will is adventurous, steady, and deeply loyal to his family. Together, they share an easygoing, calm kind of love — the kind you can’t imagine any other way.

The Session – From Downtown Charm to Coastal Magic

We started their engagement session in downtown San Luis Obispo, wandering through its charming streets. The two of them laughed easily, their chemistry making my job effortless. Their smiles? Pure joy.

One of my favorite moments was on a rooftop, where they danced together as the late afternoon sun painted everything in warm tones. The city’s mix of historic brick and soft golden light made for the perfect backdrop for their candid, true-to-life engagement photography.

From there, we headed south to Pismo Beach to catch the sunset. The evening was warm with a gentle ocean breeze, and the sky put on a show. As avid travelers and adventure lovers, the beach was the perfect setting for them to simply be themselves — walking hand-in-hand, laughing, and soaking in the moment.

A Documentary Vibe with True-to-Life Colors

For Jasmine and Will’s session, I kept the colors true to life — letting the golden light of San Luis Obispo and the soft blues of Pismo Beach shine. Their gallery is full of unposed, candid moments that feel like them: relaxed, connected, and full of quiet joy.
