Fall Family Photos at Biddle Park | Arroyo Grande Family Photographer

Rylie and Cody have the cutest girls, Indie and Coral, and this session was full of energy, laughter, and love. I first met Rylie a few years ago when she responded to one of my model calls — and now, for the third year in a row, I’ve had the joy of photographing their family. Watching them grow and return for annual fall family photos is one of the most rewarding parts of being a Central Coast family photographer.

Finding the Perfect Spot: Biddle Park

We had originally planned a coastal shoot, but the weather had other plans. With high wind gusts across the coast, we made a quick pivot inland to Biddle Park in Arroyo Grande — one of my favorite mid-day photo locations for families. The park’s beautiful oak trees, natural shade, and open space make it perfect for little explorers like Indie and Coral (who wasted no time climbing and giggling their way through the trees).

One of the best parts about Biddle Park? It’s easily accessible — parking is just steps away from where we shoot, which makes it ideal for young families or morning sessions.

Playful Moments and Family Laughs

The Bowers are the definition of a fun, down-to-earth family. The girls kept everyone laughing, and I quickly learned how ticklish Cody is! Their joy is absolutely contagious — and that makes for the best kind of photos: unposed, authentic, and full of personality.

This year also included a few furry guests — their dogs, Beau and Asher! It was their first family session with the pups, and they fit right in. If you know me, you know I’m a huge fan of doodles, so this was extra fun.

Tips for Bringing Dogs to Your Family Session

If you’re considering bringing your pets to your family photography session, here are a few helpful tips to make the experience smooth and photo-ready:

• Skip the poop bags and bulky leash attachments — simple, neutral leashes photograph best.

• Matching collars or bandanas add a cohesive look.

• Bring treats for focus (and rewards).

• Let your photographer know in advance so an assistant can help wrangle pets between shots.

• Most importantly: bring your sense of humor! Extra paws mean extra laughs, snuggles, and great candid moments.
