A Joy-Filled Pismo Beach Family Session on the Central Coast
Every session is special, but capturing Alicia and her family during this Central Coast Family Session was truly a treat. I met Alicia through my women’s Bible study, which made photographing her family even more meaningful. Getting to know someone in such a special, personal setting adds so much heart to a session like this.
This was their first time ever having family photos, so of course there was a little “no pressure, right?” moment. My goal was simple: serve Alicia and Matt well and showcase their family’s unique personality in a way that felt natural and true to them.
Beach Family Photos Inspired by a Love for the Ocean
Alicia and Matt own Avila Paddlesports, so their connection to the beach and the ocean runs deep. Incorporating that love into their Beach Family Photos was important to me. There’s something so timeless about a Pismo Beach Family session—the salty air, rolling waves, and soft sand create the perfect backdrop for authentic connection.
Their kiddos, Delaney and Austin, absolutely stole the show. Austin brought all the character once he warmed up to me. When it was time to run down to the ocean, he exclaimed with a heart full of joy, “It’s going to be so fun and cold!” His excitement, vocabulary, and knowledge of the ocean were highlights of the entire session. A very typical (and wonderful) three-year-old moment.
Embracing the Chaos of Family Life on the Central Coast
I hope these images bring Alicia and Matt right back to this season of life—probably a little chaotic, definitely joyful, and so worth it. These are the moments that matter most: sandy hands, silly expressions, splashing waves, and laughter echoing along the shore.
That’s the beauty of a relaxed Central Coast Family Session. It’s not about perfection; it’s about presence.
Tips for a Stress-Free Pismo Beach Family Session with Little Ones
If you’re planning Beach Family Photos with small kids, here’s my biggest tip: Show up as hands-free as possible.
I’m happy to carry small items you may need so you can focus on connecting. Then just play. Embrace the short attention spans. Dance, explore, and let your kids be kids. Roll in the sand, get a little dirty, splash in the water, and laugh together for an hour. I promise—these are the images you’ll look back on years from now.
Kind Words from a Happy Pismo Beach Family
“Absolutely amazing! We’ve never had photos done and I was nervous! She provides so much helpful information leading up to the shoot and the minute she gets there she makes everything easy. She captured so many special and beautiful moments. The photos came back quick and were better than I could have imagined. She will definitely make everything special day even better! Thank you!!” - Alicia
