I traveled all the way from California to Chicago to capture Tom and Alyssa’s stunning wedding day — a day that felt equal parts timeless, heartfelt, and full of Chicago magic. Their planning journey was short and sweet; Alyssa reached out just 90 days before the wedding, juggling details around Tom’s demanding school schedule. Being able to photograph their story from engagement to wedding day was such an honor.

Getting Ready at the Iconic London House

The entire celebration began and ended at the London House, the heartbeat of downtown and one of Chicago’s most iconic wedding locations. The morning was filled with anticipation, family laughter, and the kind of energy that only a downtown wedding day brings.

Tom and Alyssa shared their first look at the cupola on the rooftop — a moment wrapped in emotion and framed by sweeping views of the Chicago skyline. The city stretched endlessly around them, giving their first look the most dramatic and unforgettable backdrop.

A Beautiful Catholic Ceremony at St. Joseph’s Parish

We all boarded the trolley and made our way to St. Joseph’s Parish, where Tom and Alyssa had a beautiful Catholic ceremony. Chicago’s churches hold so much architectural grandeur, and experiencing the ornate details, stained glass, and reverent atmosphere made the ceremony feel truly sacred. It was one of those moments where the beauty of the cathedral perfectly matched the significance of their vows.

Cocktail Hour, Reception & A Night to Remember

After the ceremony, we returned to the London House for cocktail hour and reception. Before guests entered, Tom and Alyssa walked through the reception space for a grand reveal — a moment filled with pride and emotion as Alyssa saw all her hard work beautifully come to life.

The evening unfolded with heartfelt speeches, an incredible choreographed dance the couple had been practicing, and one of the most unforgettable parties I’ve photographed — complete with a live saxophonist weaving through the dance floor. It was vibrant, loud, joyful, and everything a Chicago wedding should be.

A Night I Never Wanted to End

Tom and Alyssa’s wedding day was the perfect blend of iconic Chicago scenery, timeless celebration, and personal touches that felt deeply meaningful to who they are. From rooftop views to cathedral architecture to a dance floor filled with music and pure joy, it was a day I’ll never forget.
