A Carpinteria California Bluff Wedding Ceremony

Getting Married in Carpinteria, California

If you've never been to Carpinteria, it is one of those towns that take a piece of your heart, and that is exactly what it did for Mika and Dan.

Mika and Dan lived in Carp for years early in their relationship until they moved away, visiting any chance they got, like for their Engagement photos in 2020. Carpinteria held so much meaning for the two that when it came to their wedding day, they knew that getting all their favorite people to their favorite place would be the best day.

I met Mika and Dan when a friend referred them to me when their photographer canceled their engagement session. I traveled to Carpinteria to capture their engagement and loved their fun-loving and joyful spirits. So a few months later, I was stoked and honored that they wanted me to capture their wedding. They were the beginning for me and my photography business.

Mika and Dan's wedding day started in separate Air BnBs with their closest friends and family. Mika was accompanied by her two best companions, Nala and Nala 2.0; even sharing a special moment with Nala 2.0 that still holds dear in my heart, as she got sick a few months later and crossed the rainbow bridge.

Mika and her Bridesmaids ran out to the beach to capture a few fun shots in their chambray tops and socks before getting dressed and piling into a small car to head to the ceremony.

Carpinteria Bluffs Wedding Ceremony

The bluff in Carpinteria provided scenic views for Mika and Dan's wedding ceremony and featured vibrant florals, unique orange details, and baby blue accents.

Mika was escorted down the aisle by her father as Dan stood on his tippy-toes to see her. Their wedding was officiated by Mika's brother.

Wedding Portraits and Ice Cream

Mika and Dan planned and brought along some props for their photos, including:

  • Champagne for a Toast

  • Bubbles to Spread Joy

We moved along fast in portraits and decided to sneak away at sunset for the rest, so I asked Mika if they wanted Ice Cream! Mika and Dan have a food blog called Joy to the Food. So it was the perfect way to celebrate their wedding Day in a way that represents them and the place they love.

This blog post is dedicated to Nala 2.0 - Nala was not only a companion for Mika and Dan, but a support animal to Nala " The Original." She helped Nala through various barriers and brought a sense of confidence.
